PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal-plane shutter for a camera capable of braking the exposure actuation of both of a front blade driving member and a rear blade driving member and preventing bound, and having inexpensive constitution that does no influence set torque. SOLUTION: For a brake member 5 rotatably attached to a shaft 1g, locking parts 5b' and 5c' are formed at the edges of two arm parts 5b and 5c having flexibility in a rotating direction and a part to be operated 5a' is formed at an arm part 5a having no flexibility. When exposure is actuated, the member 5 suitably performs the braking of driving members 2 and 3 and the prevention of the bound, because the part to be operated 5' is pressed by the operation part 4d of a setting member 4 so that the locking part 5b' and 5c' face to the inside of the actuation locus of the engaging parts 2d and 3d of the driving members 2 and 3. At the time of setting, the member 5 does not influence the set torque of the member 4, because the force of the operation part 4d to the part to be operated 5a' is eliminated at an initial stage.
