PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load measuring device formed by using a polymer piezoelectric element, hardly influenced by a disturbance, noise or a leakage charge, capable of measuring a very mildly fluctuating load stably for long hours, and applicable to various monitoring systems, automatic measurements or the like. SOLUTION: This device has a polymer piezoelectric element 1, an oscillation circuit 5 for applying a sine-wave alternating voltage to the polymer piezoelectric element 1, and a detection means 6 for detecting the change of a capacitive reactance of the polymer piezoelectric element 1, and a load acting on the polymer piezoelectric element 1 is measured based on the output of the detection means 6, by utilizing the change of a capacitance between electrodes caused by application of the load to the polymer piezoelectric element 1.
