The invention concerns a tyre (1) whereof the crown (2) comprises a layer of reinforcing threads circumferentially oriented (7) and helically wound. Said layer is arranged such that in sensitive zones, for example, beneath the grooves (8) of the tread pattern, the distance between two turns of the circumferential reinforcing threads is considerably increased, thereby reducing the risk of damage to the circumferential reinforcing threads in said zones.
