PURPOSE:To obtain enlarged dot pattern data easy to see, having a favorable property for visual confirmation and free of lowering in pattern quality at the time of printing, CRT displaying or the like, by enlarging data while performing a rounding treatment of dots opposed diagonally to each other, when enlarging the dot pattern data. CONSTITUTION:An enlarging controller 10 comprises a simple enlarging part 12 for simply enlarging dot pattern data, and a roundness correcting mechanism 14 for imparting 'roundness' to enlarged dot pattern data so that the relevant dot pattern becomes easy to see. The simple enlarging part 12 comprises a vertical enlarging means 18 for simply enlarging the inputted dot pattern data vertically with a magnifica tion of 2, and a horizontal enlarging means 20 for simply enlarging the vertically enlarged dot pattern data horizontally with a magnification of 2. The roundness correcting mechanism 14 comprises a horizontal enlarging part 22 and a vertical enlarg ing part 24 for respectively performing horizontal and vertical dot correction on the data outputted from the simple enlarging part 12, and an AND part 26 for ANDing the data outputted from the part 22 with the data outputted from the part 24 and for outputting the AND to a printing part 16. Accordingly, pattern quality can be prevented from being lowered when the dot pattern data for a character or the like is enlarged. |
