PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cassette which excels in its operability when a wrong erasion preventing slider piece 4 is slid between recordable and unrecordable positions and also can surely lock the slider piece 4 at a relevant position. SOLUTION: A wrong erasion preventing slider piece 4 can slide in the right and left directions between the recordable and unrecordable positions in a wrong erasion preventing part 2. The piece 4 includes a part 5 to be locked and having a curved surface 5a and also two lock parts 6 protrude from a lower case 1b. When the piece 4 is slide, the curved surface parts 6a and 6b abut on the surface 5a and are locked and the piece 4 is locked. In such a constitution of a tape cassette 1, the curvature of the surface 5a set at a part that abuts on a part 6 when the piece 4 is locked is equal to or smaller than the curvature of both parts 6a and 6b set at a part that abuts on the part 5.
