PURPOSE:To avert the explosion of dust and to permit simultaneous blowing of powders from many tuyeres by mounting nozzles between the virtual extension line of the inside wall of the furnace body side of blowing pipes and the outside wall of the furnace body to connecting pipes successively provided to the tuyeres of a converter. CONSTITUTION:The nozzle 13 which blows the powder to the furnace body 1 is mounted to the connecting pipe 2. The nozzle 13 is positioned between the virtual extension line X of the inside wall 2C on the furnace body 1 side of the blowing pipe 2C and the outside wall 1a of the furnace body 1 and is mounted to the lower side of the sleeve 2a of a part of the pipe 2. The nozzle 13 is provided to incline in the direction parting from the body 1. Air or air enriched wit oxygen collides against the bottom wall of an insertion pipe 2b and the greater part enters the body 1 from the tuyere 1b if the converter is constituted in the above-mentioned manner and when said air is blown into the furnace from the blowing pipe 2C. Part thereof advances to the opposite side of the body 1 but the leakage to the outside is prohibited by a ball 5.
