PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eyepiece lens having large pupil diameter, which has a function for effectively adjusting diopter. SOLUTION: In this eyepiece lens which has a first lens group G1 having a negative meniscus lens L1 with a concave surface facing to an eye point side and having negative refracting power, a second lens group G2 having a biconvex lens L2 and positive refracting power, and a third lens group G3 having a negative lens L3 and the negative refracting power in order from the eye point side and in which the diopter can be varied by shifting the second lens group G2 along the direction of the optical axis, at least either surface of the lens L2 is composed of specified aspherical surface, and also specified conditions are satisfied.
