摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the screening performance without degrading the cooling performance in a radioactive substance dry storage facility. SOLUTION: This radioactive substance dry storage facility 1 is a facility for storing a radioactive waste glass solidified body and it has a concrete building. Inside the facility, radioactive substances 2 are stored and it is provided with a storeroom 3 storing the radioactive substances and having an outer wall surrounding the radioactive substances with performance for screening radiation, an air inflow port 4 taking in cooling air for the radioactive substances, an exhaust port 5 exhausting the cooled air, and screens 6 for screening the radioactive substances are positioned in an interior of this facility upstream and downstream in respect to a flow 7 of air. The total thickness of housing tubes and storage containers is provided larger in a storeroom periphery part than that in a storeroom center part. Of the radiation radiated from the radioactive substances, the radiation dose radiated from radioactive substances stored near air inflow and outflow parts can be reduced, and thereby, the radiation dose heading for an opening part of the facility can be reduced.
