PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cabinet for electronic equipment for treating a signal cable that is connected to a wiring board and becomes surplus length, without increasing the outer shape with the cabinet for electronic equipment where a sub rack for accommodating a plurality of wiring boards so that they can be inserted and extracted freely in a cabinet body as a target. SOLUTION: In a cabinet (cabinet for electronic equipment) 1, a cable rack (surplus length cable-treating means) 10 for retaining an optical fiber cord (signal cable) (c), that is connected to an interface substrate 4 to become surplus length is provided in front of a sub rack 3 inside a cabinet body 2 and at a position avoiding the insertion/extraction region of the interface substrate (wiring board) 4 for the sub rack 3.
