PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a time-lapse recorder, capable of intermittently recording digital images at a high compression ratio. SOLUTION: This time-lapse recorder is provided with an MPEG coding means that applies compression coding to digital images to be inputted for every frame in a prescribed mode in compliance with the MPEG and gathers the coded images as a series of groups, and an intermittent input control means that selects digital images to be inputted to this MPEG coding means at a prescribed period.
