PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional communication unit in which the stored state of an image-pickup device cannot be easily grasped. SOLUTION: This communication unit (equivalent to caption 60 in Figure 1 of this embodiment) that receives image data picked up by an image-pickup device (equivalent to caption 10 in the Figure 1) connected via a network to solve the above task, is provided with a storage means (equivalent to captions 125, 126 in the Figure 1) that stores control information to control the image- pickup device and an output means (equivalent to caption 136 in the Figure 1) that outputs a composited image (equivalent to the Figure 1 and Figure 4) resulting from compositing of a symbol denoting the state of the image-pickup device in response to the control information stored in the storage means with image information denoting the installation position of the image-pickup device.
