The transmission shaft joint for a motor vehicle has a bell section 92) and a core (3) with a cage (5) to retain rollers (4). Each section has a groove with a direction line (16,17). Each line forms, in a zone which overlaps the diametrical plane (P) of the section and at an angle to the centre (o) of the joint, a curve of continuously variable radius.
