PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly cancel a recording operation even in the case of an unintended shutter releasing like the occurrence of a fully depressed shutter button in mistake. SOLUTION: A recording stop switch 97 is provided to a rear face 92 of a camera main body 90. Fully depressing a shutter button 93 exposes an imaging device to record image data obtained from the imaging device to a recording medium. When a user depresses the recording stop switch 97 before the recording of the image data is finished, the recording is stopped. Depressing the shutter button 93 a plurality of number of times within a prescribed time may stop the recording in place of depressing the recording stop switch 97. Or depressing both the recording stop switch 97 and the shutter button 93 may stop the recording. Since the recording can be stopped on the way thereof, the camera can quickly be transited to the succeeding photographing.
