PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enclosed lead battery which is excellent in cycle lifetime by controlling stratification phenomenon of electrolyte generated during the use of the enclosed lead battery. SOLUTION: In an enclosed lead battery having electrode plate groups formed by laminating a positive electrode plate, a negative plate and a separator made of glass fiber and used by housing with an electrolyte bath the electrode plate group such that the laminating direction is up and down directions, the glass fiber separator is used of average fiber diameter of more than 0.8μm, density of less than 0.16 g/cm3, maximum hole diameter of more than 19μm, average hole diameter of more than 4.3μm, surface area ratio of less than 2.2 m2/g, and average fiber diameter of more than 0.8μm.
