PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system which can guide a user to a destination more safely. SOLUTION: After an own vehicle finishes turning a crossing or the like according to a guidance route, a processing control part discriminates that the own vehicle is situated immediately after a previous road node (Step S17), and it discriminates the existence of a landmark to be reported (Step S18). When the processing control part discriminates that the landmark to be reported exists, it extracts a landmark name from landmark information (Step S21). On the other hand, when the processing control part discriminates that the landmark to be reported does not exist it extracts a segment name from road segment information (Step S19), The processing control part edits a guide message on the basis of the extracted landmark name or the extracted segment name so as to be supplied to a voice synthesis part (Step S22), The voice synthesis part outputs the guide message via a voice output part (Step S23). |
