PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-phase-single-phase converter capable of performing direct supply from three-phase power to single-phase large capacity load and, reversely, converting single-phase power into three-phase power. SOLUTION: Primary connections of respective phase transformers A, B, C corresponding to three phases are made into a three-phase connection. For a secondary connection, its polarity is reversed for only B phase and the turn ratio of a secondary winding of B-phase is set to 1/2 those of the other two phases, and three phases are connected in series. Reactive power regulating circuits 1, 2 improving a phase difference between phase voltage and load current are parallel connected to each of the secondary windings or primary windings of other phases except the phase whose polarity is reversely connected.
