PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional magnetic disk device that resonance caused by the excitation frequency of a ball bearing approaching the natural frequency deteriorates the precision of positioning because it is difficult to predict the natural frequency of a spindle of the magnetic disk in the translation mode. SOLUTION: Holes 42 are provided to a shaft 11 in the radial direction to decrease the flexural rigidity of the shaft 11 and to decrease the natural frequency of the spindle 2, thereby preventing the occurrence of resonance.
