PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and thin high performance inductor. SOLUTION: An insulation substrate 11 has a through hole 15 and a coil 13 mounted on each side of the substrate 11 has a spiral pattern around the through hole 15. A first core member 3 comprises a bottom plate 21 and an intermediate leg 23. The bottom plate 21 has one side facing the insulation substrate 11 and the intermediate leg 23 stands on one side of the bottom plate 21 to extend through the though hole 15 of the substrate 11. A second core member 5 is made of a magnetic material having electric resistance higher than that of the first core member 3 and disposed on the opposite side to the first core member 3 with respect to a flat coil plate 1 facing the forward end face of the intermediate leg 23. Terminal conductors 7, 9 are disposed on the second core member 5 side and connected, at the ends thereof, with the ends 17, 19 of the coil 13.
