<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the print wait time while saving the electric power by quickly starting up a printer in a power-saving standby mode. SOLUTION: A host computer sends release data to a printer in specific timing, e.g. at OS start time, application program start time, print preview picture display time, print setting picture calling time, printer driver calling time, and print execution indication time. The printer once receiving the release data releaser the power-saving mode. Consequently, the printer can be started up more speedily than before and the print wait time can be shortened.</p> |
