PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a black-and-white heat developable photosensitive material for laser exposure having great covering power, giving high Dmax and less liable to the reduction of sensitivity (desensitization) in storage. SOLUTION: The black-and-white heat developable photosensitive material contains a reducing agent for silver ions, a binder, the non-photosensitive silver salt of a fatty acid and photosensitive silver halide on one face of the substrate. The photosensitive silver halide is grains of 10-50 nm average grain size prepared separately from the non-photosensitive silver salt. The photosensitive material further contains a compound of the formula [(Z)mL]1 (1), for example, formula 2.
