PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally conduct succeeding procedures at the revision of a connection state before and after power ON/OFF and on the detection of a fault status in a work issuing a command and confirming a status register in a facsimile terminal to which an external storage device interfaced by a prescribed command procedure can be connected. SOLUTION: In the case of confirming connection of an external storage device at application of power, when a status fault of the external storage device is detected, rising of a facsimile control system is interrupted and a message urging re-application of power is displayed on a display device or an alarm is raised. Furthermore, when it is detected that the connection state of the external storage device is changed from the state before the application of power, the rising of the facsimile control system is interrupted.
