PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to stop rotation of an optical disk reliably in a method to stop rotation of the optical disk in which a reverse rotation driving voltage is impressed to a motor to stop the revolutions of the disk. SOLUTION: When the rotational speed of an optical disk starts to decline, a time difference t3 is detected between the times when the speed is decelerated to a first absolute rotational speed Va and when it reaches a second absolute rotational speed Vb, a level lower than the Va. Then, the forecast impressing time t4 of a reverse rotation driving voltage to be impressed to a motor is obtained from the time difference t3 and the ratio of the absolute rotational speeds Va and Vb. This method enables the forecast impressing time t4 of the reverse rotation driving voltage that is impressed to the motor to be calculated until the rotation of the optical disk stops accurately. Thus, the rotation of the optical disk can be stopped reliably. |
