PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved device for mounting an electrical connector on a panel or another flat plate. SOLUTION: A housing 16 with a connector 10 is provided with at least one positioning flange 22 outwardly projected, and stop flanges 24 and 26. The housing 16 may move to the latch position in an opening of the panel. A latch arm 28 is projected outwardly from the housing 16 so as to engage the perimeter of the latch of the panel when the housing has moved to the latch position. A protective shroud 34 is arranged to enclose most of the latch arm 28, having a size to almost close the panel opening in cooperation with the housing 16 moved to the latch position.
