PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head and a magnetic reproducing device which reduce cross talk from adjacent tracks generated in accordance with the track- narrowing for densification of recording, and allow high S/N. SOLUTION: This magnetic head has a specified constitution in which magnetic bias impressing means are disposed on both sides of a magnetic detecting part such as a magnetic yoke or a magnetic core and, thereby, only a soft magnetic layer on a recording track to be reproduced is surely saturated. As a signal recorded on a recording layer is reproduced while impressing the magnetic bias in the direction of track width, it can be prevented to uselessly saturate the soft magnetic layers on the adjacent recording tracks. As a result, the cross talk on reproducing is widely reduced and the reproducing of high resolution is realized.
