PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect moving objects existing in plural directions different from the advancing direction of a moving object. SOLUTION: This traveling supporting device installed on a moving object is provided with an image pickup part 15 for picking up the images of right and left directions different from the advancing direction of a vehicle, a first moving object extracting means for extracting the moving object by using plural images outputted by picking up the images of the right direction at different times with the image pickup part 15, and a second moving object extracting means for extracting the moving object by using plural images outputted by picking up the images of the left direction at different time with the image pickup part 15. Further, the device is provided with a first range finding means for measuring a distance from the moving object in the right direction to the vehicle and a second range finding means for measuring a distance from the moving object in the left direction to the vehicle. |
