PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior broadcast wave booster, having wired cable length detecting function by which wired cable installation can automatically be confirmed at mount of the booster at a booster installed place, so as to relieve the load of a worker and the required gain adjustment of the booster in this case can also be made automatically to enhance the mount performance by the worker furthermore. SOLUTION: This television broadcast wave booster amplifies the frequency band of a received signal and provides a proper signal level to a television reception input terminal NT in a system, where the broadcast wave signal is received by an antenna A or through a wired cable, is provided with a function of detecting a signal level of a detection signal returned to a booster output terminal ST, so as to derive out a length of the wired cable wired from the booster output terminal ST.
