PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discomfort glare evaluation device capable of evaluating the discomfort glare by taking the direction of a line of sight and the direction of a light source in consideration. SOLUTION: Information concerning the brightness of a light source in an illumination space and the direction of line of sight and the direction of a light source from an observation point in the illumination space are inputted through an input means 2. Supposing that the brightness of the light source is L, and that an angle formed between the direction of the line of sight and the direction of the light source isθ, the index of the discomfort glare of the light source is obtained by an equation: Geq=L/θ2, based on the input from the input means, by an operation means 1. A discomfort glare distribution corresponding to the obtained index of the discomfort glare is displayed by a display means 3. The direction from which the discomfort glare is received in a visual field in the direction of the line of sight can be evaluated by taking the direction of the line of sight and the direction of the light source into consideration.
