PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system where a database including a huge number of data to be sent to a terminals is edited so as to reduce the data amount and an electronic device is remotely controlled by utilizing the database. SOLUTION: An EPG provider 3 edits an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) on the basis of personal information of a user registered when the user subscribes to the EPG provider 3 and transmits the edited EPG to a mobile phone 1. The mobile phone 1 stores once the edited EPG to a memory 10, utilizes the EPG stored in this memory 10 and makes communication with a home server 4 to remotely control the home server 4 so as to allow the home server 4 to reserve video recording of a desired program.
