PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an externally referenced form file consisting of only a reference information storage section from referencing an unintended file. SOLUTION: An optical disk 20a is loaded to an external drive 71, which copies or moves one file or more recorded in the optical disk 20a to a hard disk 72 of a personal computer 70. The personal computer 70 edits the files and again copies or moves the result of edit to the optical disk. The result of edit is the externally referenced form file to its reference information storage section of which reference file information and a specific character string generated from a disk ID are imbedded. In the case of reproducing the optical disk recording the result of edit, checking by the character string is conducted. That is, the coincidence between the character string in a file 62 of the result of edit and the character string on the basis of the disk ID read from the disk is detected. When the disk is the substantial optical disk 20a, since the both are coincident, the reproduction is permitted. However, when the disk is other optical disk 20b, since both the disk IDs are dissident, the reproduction is inhibited.
