PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power source for constant current control with good response and overcurrent control by particularly using a low-cost control IC in the switching power source in a field of power electronics. SOLUTION: The switching power source drives to turn ON, OFF MOS transistors Q5 to Q8 arranged in a bridge according to a control signal outputted by a control IC 25 to converter a DC power of a battery 20a, and comprises a peak holding circuit 26 for detecting output currents of the transistors Q5 to Q8 of switching elements, and an overcurrent detecting latch circuit 27 for detecting an overcurrent flowing to the circuit 26 separately from the control circuit. Thus, a load of the IC 25 is alleviated, a circuit configuration of the IC 25 is simplified, and use of the low-cost IC 25 can be allowed.
