PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from performing photographing on the water in a state where he (she) forgets the release of an underwater macro mode. SOLUTION: When a water sensing sensor 203 recognizes that the camera is not underwater, a CPU 201 judges whether the elapsed time after a mode dial SW 210 is set to the underwater macro mode is equal to or above the specified time or the number of consecutively exposed frames in a state where subject luminance is equal to or above the specified level is two or more, and performs warning display by flickering the underwater macro mode displaying segment 215 of a data display device 209. In the case a condition which may indicate that the erroneous setting of the underwater macro mode is recognized singly or compositely by measuring a subject distance by a range-finding device 204 and subject luminance by a photometric device 202 when a release SW 210 is lightly pressed, the CPU 201 performs the warning display by flickering the segment 215 and a photographing-enable indicating LED 212 within a finder or inhibits photographing or releases the underwater macro mode in accordance with the total of marks given to the respective conditions. |
