PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interphone system that releases a transfer mode so as to stop connection between a slave terminal and an external communication terminal in the case that a resident uses a master terminal to reply a call from the slave terminal when receiving the call from the slave terminal in a transfer mode. SOLUTION: The interphone system is provided with the slave terminal 1 having a speech means 13 and a call means 12, a master terminal 2 that has a speech means 24 and is connected to the slave terminal, and a transfer means 3 that is connected to the master terminal and automatically makes a call to the external communication terminal 5 via a telephone network 4. The transfer means has a configuration such that it automatically makes a call to the communication terminal when receiving a call from the slave terminal in the transfer mode to form a speech path between the slave terminal and the communication terminal, and releases the transfer mode when detecting a reply of the speech means of the master terminal in response to the call before forming the speech path.
