PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for an isolator excellent in strength, power resistance and heat radiation, preventing adverse influences upon an environment and a human body and an isolator, which is produced by using that substrate, excellent in characteristics and reliability. SOLUTION: This substrate for the isolator is essentially composed of alminium nitride and has heat conductivity higher than 160 W/m.K, insulation resistance higher than 10 kV/mm (50 Hz) and dielectric dissipation factor of 3.0 tanδ×10-4 (10 GHz).
