PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera and an editing device capable of instructing a photographic position by using a displayed map image and recording information about the photographic position by relating it to photographic image data. SOLUTION: A user can easily specify a place for photography and record a photographed image by relating it to the photographic position and attached information since this electronic camera is provided with a first recording medium 28 in which the map image with more minute attached information as contraction scale of the map image becomes smaller, an instructing means 24 to instruct reading of the map image with desired contraction scale including the photographic position from the first recording medium 28, a display means 30 to display the map image read from the first recording medium 28 based on instruction by the instructing means 24 and a recording means 20 to record the attached information of the map image displayed on the display means 30 in a second recording medium 28 by relating it to the image data together with the image data obtained in the case of photography.
