PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card holding mechanism capable of completely inserting an IC card into a computer housing so as to avoid projecting from the external housing wall of a computer by tightly fitting the IC card in the computer housing. SOLUTION: A tray facilitates perfect insertion of an IC card and electrically mutual connection of appropriateness between the IC card and the inside of a computer. The tray is shaped to form tight seal between with the computer housing and to provide the same plane as the external surface of the computer housing. Any part of the tray or the IC card never projects beyond the computer housing, thereby durability, operability and compactness of the portable computer is improved. A stopping mechanism 7 holds a tray in the housing when the tray is opened. When the tray is opened, the IC card can easily be put into and out from the tray and the tray is never separated from the computer to be lost. |
