PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently deliver a received digital satellite broadcast signal. SOLUTION: A front end circuit 11 selects a DSS broadcast signal from an antenna, a descramble circuit 12 descrambles the signal and discriminates whether the broadcast signal is an SD broadcast signal or an HD broadcast signal. An MPEG decode circuit 15 decodes the SD signal, an NTSC encode circuit 16 converts the decoded signal into an NTSC signal, which is outputted from a video cable 3. A multiplex edit circuit 17 recombines a structure of the HD signal into the structure in compliance with an ATSC system, and an encryption circuit 18 encrypts the recombined signal, which is outputted from an IEEE 1394 interface. |
