PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat developable image recording material capable of giving an image having high Dmax (maximum density), low fog and good preservability and capable of waterborne coating which is environmentally and cost-wise advantageous. SOLUTION: The heat developable image recording material has a non- photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on the substrate and the non-photosensitive organic silver salt is prepared by conversion to fine particles with an ultrahigh pressure dispersing machine under >=1,800 kg/cm2 pressure.
