PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dial dividing mechanism capable of increasing unexpectedness of a movement, capable of facilitating increase and decrease of division of a dial, and capable of simplifying its structure. SOLUTION: In this dial dividing mechanism, driving wheel rows 16, 18, 20, 22 are installed so as to correspond as each pair respectively to divided pieces 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d obtained by dividing a dial 2. Circular motions of the driving gear trains 16, 18, 20, 22 are transferred to the divided pieces 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d through coupling members 26, 28, 30, 32 to move the divided pieces 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d so as to draw arcs in parallel respectively.
