PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve measurement accuracy for detecting a water-leakage position, and to provide a technique capable of detecting even a plurality of water-leakage areas by surely separating them. SOLUTION: This detection system comprises a plurality of point electrodes 1 for applying voltage arranged at predetermined intervals either on or under a laid impermeable film 10, a linear electrode 2 for detecting electric current arranged on the other side of the impermeable film 10, an AC supply 82, a selective connecting means 30 for selecting at least one of the plurality of point electrodes 1 and connecting it to one of the AC supply 82 while connecting the other point electrodes 1 all to the other thereof, a current detection circuit 83 for detecting current flowing between the linear and point electrodes 2, 1 connected to one of the AC supply 82, and a phase detection circuit 84 for receiving output of the current detection circuit 83, detecting phase, and extracting only current having the same phase as applied voltage.
