PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting tube for preventing half-wave discharging in lighting a fluorescent lamp to eliminate the blackening and life-shortening thereof, and an illumination instrument using it. SOLUTION: A lighting tube comprises a fixed electrode consisting of an Ni-Fe alloy, bimetal 5 being capable of contacting the fixed electrode, and support member 4. The bimetal 5 includes a moveable electrode 3 consisting of a high expansion rate part of an Ni-Cu-Fe alloy and a low expansion rate part of the 36Ni-Fe alloy. Since the time that the bimetal of the moveable electrode 3 keeps on contacting the fixed electrode 2 is prolonged, the preheating time of the filament is also prolonged to improve the preheating unbalance, thereby preventing the blackening of the lamp and shortening of the life. |
