PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor the fault of an OS without adding any exclusive hardware, and to monitor the fault of an AP, and to quickly preserve the check point of the AP without adding an exclusive hardware. SOLUTION: An AP fault monitoring monitor 4 and an AP 5 to be monitored are provided as AP operating on a first OS in a computer having a multi-OS environment. A fault monitoring monitor 3 is provided as an AP operating on a second OS. The first OS and the AP failure mentoring monitor 4 respectively transmits an existence signal to the fault monitoring monitor 3 by using an inter-OS communicating function of a multi-OS controlling part 6, and the fault monitoring monitor 3 monitors each existence signal. An AP 5 to be monitored transmits the existence signal to the AP fault monitoring monitor 4, and the AP fault monitoring monitor 4 monitors this. The AP 5 to be monitored preserves check point information in the region of a memory 9 in which information is preserved according to the fault and restart of the first OS.
