PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens controller which can record data with small memory capacity by compressing and recording data needed for the operation of a moving lens in a memory. SOLUTION: A CPU 26 detects a focus position, a zoom position, and an iris position and moves a fine adjusting lens 18 to an aberration-correction position according to those detected positions. The correction position of the fine adjusting lens 18 is recorded as correction data in a ROM 80. The correction data is not data merely having the correction position recorded corresponding to the values of the focus position, zoom position, and iris position, but data which is compressed by a specific method and recorded.
