<p>A cell assembly/disassembly device comprising a cell disassembly unit (2) which disassembles a cell received from an ATM circuit interface, extracts data from a payload, distributes the data in accordance with origins for each of a plurality of time slots which are time-division-multiplexed into frame periods, and sends the date to an STM circuit interface, wherein the cell disassembly unit (2) has a fluctuation absorbing buffer unit (11) which has buffers provided for the respective time slots. The data distributed for the respective time slots are temporarily held by the buffers to absorb the fluctuation of the cell, so that both the increase of the total capacity of a fluctuation absorbing memory and the complexity of a memory control circuit can be suppressed and the cost can be reduced.</p> |
