PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the irradiation of thin-film transistors(TFTs) of a transmission liquid crystal panel of an active matrix system through which the rays are transmitted from above to below with rays and the hindrance of their operation. SOLUTION: The rays made incident on the TFT 203 from above are shut off not only by a high-reflectivity upper metallic film 207 but by a low- translucency light shut-off layer 216 as well. When the rays reflected by the under surface of a transparent substrate 201, etc., are multireflected on the under surface of the upper metallic film 207 and the top surface of a lower light shielding film 202, the rays turn to stray light arriving at the TFT 203 in some cases but the low-reflectivity light shut-off layer 216 exists below the upper metallic film 207 and above the TFT 203 and a low-reflectivity light absorption film 215 exists above the lower light shielding film 202 and below the TFT 203 and therefore the stray light arriving at the TFT 203 is not generated either. |
