<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch attainable of fast switching without causing any bit-omission of an input signal during the switching, and to provide the method for driving polarized light selectable semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: This optical switch can branch output optical path corresponding to input light by an external control signal. Polarized light of the output light is made to be switched between 1st and 2nd states, and the optical path is branched according to the polarization of the output light.</p> |
