The steering column module has at least 2 function modules (F1-F4) positioned next to one another in the axial direction of the steering column (2) and an electronic module (6) for contacting the function modules via corresponding plug connectors (S1-S4) lying in respective function planes (E1-E4) and connecting them to the onboard electrical network.
