The invention concerns a method for preparing stable dispersions in an aqueous or optionally in an alcohol medium of metal oxide elementary particles. The invention is characterised in that it involves synthesising said metal oxide by hydrothermal synthesis, which consists in: starting with a precursor, preferably a salt, of said metal, precipitating its hydroxide in acid or basic medium; then placing the hydroxide in a closed chamber where the pressure is increased, to form the corresponding metal oxide; then recuperating a dry powder of very fine size distribution which is re-dispersed in an aqueous or optionally an alcohol medium. The invention is in particular applicable to a conductive transparent oxide, used on its own or mixed with several oxides such as tin, antimony, indium or optionally cadmium oxides. The invention is useful for making fibres, yarns and masses or antistatic textile surfaces, sensors, highly sensitive detectors such as some gas detectors, anti-UV screens, optical products such as some special glasses, treated antistatic films.
|
