<p>A process for producing in a short time a transparent alkyd resin almost free from foreign substances and filtration residues, which comprises subjecting a polyester resin derived from terephthalic acid as a major starting material and reclaimed from a waste to depolymerization with a polyhydric alcohol ingredient comprising a tetrahydric or higher alcohol and then adding a polybasic acid ingredient (optionally with a fatty acid ingredient) to esterify a depolymerization product.</p> |
