ADJUSTABLE STRAPS AND STRAP FITTINGS

An adjustable strap (1) has overlying portions (8 and 9) that are releaseabl y attachable together in a plurality of positions with respect to each other t o vary the length of the strap. The overlying portions (8 and 9) are adapted t o co-operate to define said plurality of positions and be held in said positio ns by means of a one-piece adjustment fitting (12) which is releaseably attachable to the overlying portions (8 and 9). A strap fitting (12) retains a part of a strap portion (8) or parts of overlying strap portions (8 and 9) therein to prevent detachment from the fitting (12) and permits detachment o f the strap portion (8) or overlying strap portions (8 and 9) by the applicati on of a squeezing pressure that reduces the width thereof and enables retention of the part of the strap portion (8) or parts of the overlying strap portion s (8 and 9) when the squeezing pressure is released.
