<p>A device for transporting or moving articles which are physically large and/or unwieldy and/or heavy, such as, e.g., doors, windows, large panels, crates, tools, building materials, frame structures, building components and the like. A, preferably one-piece, elongate carrying frame (2) has at its respective ends an elevated article rest portion (3a; 3b) equipped with a friction-generating surface, e.g., a friction facing. Article-supporting vertical members (4, 5, 6, 7) are provided in respective end areas of the carrying frame (2) on both longitudinal sides thereof. Two wheel pairs (33a, 33c; 33b, 33d; 51a; 51b) are so positioned on the underside of the frame that said rest portion (3a; 3b) extends from the end of the carrying frame towards, but not beyond, the adjacent wheel pair (51a; 51b), the distance between the two rest portions (3a; 3b) always being greater than the distance between the axes of wheel rotation of the wheel pairs (51a; 51b).</p> |
